What Conditions Does Your Air Conditioner Need to Meet?

For a standard domestic air conditioning installation, several requirements apply.

The unit must be for domestic purposes only. You also need to position it at least 450mm from each lot boundary. The unit can sit on the ground or attach to an external wall, provided the installation meets the other requirements. It must also remain no higher than 1.8m above existing ground level where the relevant ground mounted standard applies.

The installation must not reduce the structural integrity of your home. It must also avoid reducing the existing fire resistance level of a wall.

If your installer creates an opening in the building for the installation, they must waterproof it properly. These requirements help protect the building from structural and water-related problems.

What About Noise From the Air Conditioner?

Noise is another important consideration when installing an air conditioner in Newcastle.
